Introduction

This report aims to provide estimates of the value of catches of the four main commercial species caught in the Western and Central Paciffic Fisheireies Commission (WCPFC) Convention Area, that is, albacore (Thunnus alalunga), bigeye (Thunnus obesus), skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis) and yellowfin (Thunnus albacares). The report is based on most recent catch data (August 2012) provided by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and prices obtained from a range of sources on which the estimated values are based.
