August 9 2016 marks 37 years of the FFA Convention: Read our founding documents

In 1977 Pacific Islands Forum Leaders at their 8th meeting delivered a Declaration on the Law of the Sea and a Regional Fisheries Agency. Two years later, on July 10 1979,  10 Pacific nations opened the FFA Convention for signature. The FFA takes its annual commemoration from 9 August 1979, when the Convention-- which received its required number of signatories on July 10, entered into force.

To mark the 37th anniversary, we're launching an online publication of these two founding documents to the regional tuna agency. Please contact [email protected] if you wish to have the print-ready version or develop a translated text.
