The Forum Fisheries Agency is seeking a highly skilled and analytical candidate to join our fisheries operations. This role is responsible to the MCS Advisor Strategic Analysis through the MCS Analysts and working closely with the Surveillance Operation Officers 1 and 2, the primary purpose for the role is to provide support and assist the MCS Team and Members with the analysis of fisheries data and intelligence to detect Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU), fishing and to support other monitoring control and surveillance (MCS) activities.
It is an unique opportunity allowing the successful candidate to work to improve the analytical capability within the Secretariat and member countries and providing training on MCSA analytical procedures and tools and technical support and advice to Members on suspected IUU and fisheries offenses. The Key Result Areas tasks will include but not be limited to the following-:
• Assist in MCS data analysis and support development of analytical tools
• Assist and contribute to improving analytical capacity at Secretariat and Members level
• Assist provide intelligence analysis to support FFA MCS Operation [Operation 365 (OP365) and the four Regional Operations, Operation Rai Balang (OPRB), Operation Tui Moana (OPTM), Operation Island Chief (OPIC) and Operation Kurukuru (OPKK)] for effective planning and deployment of the participating Aerial and Surface Surveillance capability.
• Assist in the delivery of training for Member countries and the Secretariat on the use of MDA tools and emerging technology.
