The Forum Fisheries Agency is seeking a dynamic professional with a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree) in a discipline (such as ecosystems-based fisheries management, marine ecology, fisheries science, population biology) relevant with at least 5 years of progressive experience in fisheries management with demonstrated experience applying contemporary fisheries management principles, methodologies and issues, preferably in an international and/or development context to FFA’s work to become part of our Fisheries Management Team.
Reporting to the Director Fisheries Management, you will provide advice and support to FFA member countries in the development of effective national and regional management arrangements for the oceanic fisheries within national waters and throughout the western and central Pacific in support of members development aspirations. This role also supports liaison activities with the WCPFC (Western, Central Pacific Fisheries Commission).
The main Key Results Areas for which the position is responsible; includes but not limited to the following;
- Provision of Technical Advice
- Provision of Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission liaison support
- Project management and;
- Effective networking relationship
The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) is offering the successful candidate a competitive salary package circa USD$82,867 (Band 12) (dependent on your qualifications, skills and experience) inclusive of COLDA and location allowances which is Tax-Free for most FFA member countries.
