Fisheries Development Support
Developing domestic industries and improving social outcomes
This program helps our Members to plan for long term social, economic and development roadmaps and policies in the fisheries sector.
We are responding to Forum leaders’ call to identify how Members can ensure greater returns from the sustainable use of fisheries resources. To this end, we:
- help Members draft development plans and policies
- assist them to improve labour standard for crew on fishing vessels
- give advice on trade issues (including WTO rules for fisheries subsidies).

We are governed by our members through the Forum Fisheries Committee (FFC). Our executive team guides the work of the Secretariat working with staff to develop high-level policy advice, governance and strategic support for FFC and its Members.
